VG Donuts & Bakery North Coastal San Diego

Since we moved here everyone has been like, "You have to try it. It's so good. Oh their donuts are the best!", etc, etc, etc.

So here I sit, 11:30 on a Sat night with donuts on the brain. Maybe this glass of distilled water will quench my thirst for the most delicious circle of fried dough I have ever eaten. Yeah, right and maybe monkeys will fly out of my butt as well.

VG Donuts in Cardiff. We succumbed the other day. Now I am craving donuts and I have not eaten donuts in years!

It could become a problem.

Eat at your own risk.

Man, VG's was the obligatory north county post-surf stop for us back in the 70's for the pure sugar rush and the carb reload.

I haven't been there in years. Good to know it's still the bomb.

I was going for a morning jog on christmas day and three surfers were in the vg parking lot yelling quite loudly how bummed they were that vg's was actually closed on christmas. I am not sure if this was after a morning session or they needed something to cure the after effects of a fun christmas eve.

Enorah, what type of other offerings do they have, cookies etc.

Really... very cool. What did you have and where are they located? I am picking up DH at airport this morning and might stop by. All I need is a donut addiction before Christmas.

We had an assortment of baked goods - chocolate chip cookies, brownies, an eclair, and just one donut (what were we thinking? Well we are not big donut people, or at least we weren't, I see more donuts in our future).

Totally down home, mom and pop, been there for like 30 years.

Well looks like my prediction came true. I have donuts sitting on my counter and donut crumbs on my shirt.

Those blueberry buttermilk bars are awesome

              Oh yummy donuts
So long I have stayed away
              VG did me in

You may become big donut people yet, literally. ;-)

I love VG. I don't normally dig donuts, but theirs are special (particularly the blueberry buttermilk bars).

I don't need to eat the donuts....you might as well stick them directly on my bum, just like the commercial. I missed out today, DH was tired and not in donut mood.

Did you try the blueberry buttermilk bars? Those are my favorite.

                No, not yet, Josh.

I'm going to get me one of those today.
