Anyone ever been to Mao's Kitchen in Venice?
My wife and I have been going there on an almost weekly basis for years. It is the best Chinese food....period. I've never once been disappointed in either the food or the service.
They have a dish of wide noodles with greens and meat (beef, chicken or pork) that is one of the simplest and goodest things I've ever eaten in a restaurant. Makes me happy just remembering it. I read somewhere - possibly on the menu! - that it's a classic Northern Chinese street-food dish, which makes me REALLY want to visit Beijing.
Calm, lovely place, run by some very pleasant people. One of the best reasons I can think of to visit Venice...
i love the place.
but i don't think of it as authentic chinese food. i look at it as california food with a substantial chinese influene.
i find myself ordering 'mao's hometown' again and again.. ..
