Prime Rib Roast in Pico/Fairfax Area?

Dear Hounds:

I was planning to try the prime rib roast from the Honey Baked Ham Store, but just found out it's only available via mail order and now it's too late to obtain it before Christmas. Any suggestions of where I can purchase a very good prime rib roast to prepare here at home? I live in the Pico/Fairfax area. Any suggestions will be very much appreciated.

Thank you and Happy Holidays to you all,

  1. you can get 1 at either butcher at the farmers market or whole foods.

    1. HOWS Markets, the reincarnation of Hughes Markets, carries Prime Rib Roasts. Last week they were on special for 9.99/lb. providing you spent over $35 at the store. Not sure if there is one in your area. Their butchers are always very helpful, and their prices can't be beat for quality meat.

I bought mine from How's earlier this week. There is one in Torrance and it is certainly worth the drive. We're talking beautifully trimmed prime grade prime rib for $9.99 per lb. This is a steal! And, if you happen to enjoy the occasional cocktail, there are some very good sales on single malt scotch and cognac to help you get the $35.00 in other purchases.

      2. You can't go wrong at Bristol Farms. There's one located on Fairfax and Sunset.

        1. There's always Harvey Guss.

          1. If you don't mind kosher, go to either kosher club on pico near san vincente, or Doheny Kosher near pico and doheny. Doheny will even make it for you on the rotisserie, and it's great.
