Bread Sauce?

What exactly is it and how is it meant to be served? My FIL and a very good friend are English but it's not a feature of their holiday meals. At first glance it doesn't seem terribly appealing, but perhaps it's tastier than it sounds?

Nope - it isn't tastier than it sounds. It tastes like very wet onion bread. :)
