Fishmongers in Edmonton

kali_MM Dec 21, 2007 09:15 AM

I'm looking for a good fishmonger in North Edmonton. I live in St. Albert, and work on the west end, so Billingsgate is a bit of a trek. I would prefer to give my money to a quality fishmonger rather than a grocery store, but suggestions for grocery stores that have good selection and consistently excellent quality would be welcome.

Thanks in advance!

Isn't there a Billingsgate in St. Albert - or is that just the cafe?

For west end, I would say go to T & T.

No, unfortunately the St. Albert Billingsgate shut down a while back.

there is a place in the west end called Ocean Odyssey Inland they focus on wild seafood only. they are at 10027 167 Street NW.

i agree with cleopatra about Ocean Odyssey. i've only bought from their kiosk at the farmer's market downtown on 104th St, and have been very impressed with the quality. everyhting is fresh frozen at the time of catch. we also bought fresh mussels from Newfoundland this fall. Excellent! it is expensive but well worth it for the quality.
