Trenton - Corned Beef Sandwich

Where do I go in the Trenton area for a corned beef or pastrami on rye? Since the NY Deli on Route 1 (formerly Harold's) closed I don't of any Jewish style delicatessens in this area. If I'm in Northeast Philly I often stop at the Casino Deli on Welsh Rd. but around Trenton I'm stuck with Italian. Please don't tell me to go to Harold's in Edison. Great place, but it's a long drive and I want a normal size sandwich. Didn't there used to be a place in the Lawrence Shopping Center?

The closest that I can suggest is Lox Stock and Deli on Ryders Lane in East Brunswick. Not that close to Trenton, but quite good.

I’m not sure, but I think the place that was in the Lawrenceville shopping center was Weinstein’s and I believe they moved out to Route 1 near Quaker Bridge Road but have since closed.

You could shoot across the river to Ben’s Deli in Morrisville. I don’t think they’re kosher, but they have excellent corned beef, pastrami and other cold cuts.

Yes, Weinstein's is long gone. The Shoprite supermarket in the Mercer Mall on Route 1 has a big kosher section with a good quality deli selection. Not a restaurant as such, though.
