Looking for a comfortable bar in San Francisco where we can do a gift exchange (6 people). Dinner afterwards. Good parking a plus. Prefer mid range $ Italian.

Okay, this probably doesn't meet enough of your criteria, but we ate at Luella last night. The bar area is very nice and not jammed into the main walkway somewhere. I had the scallops which were wonderful, my friend loved the braised pork shoulder, a speciality of theirs. Not Italian and parking...well, I think they have valet. I walked - even climed that damned hill - because parking up there is pretty bad. Food is great, atmosphere very nice, so you may want to consider it.
