Jubilee -- New Chef??
For a long time Jubilee in the east 50's has been a favorite of mine, but recently the quality has changed for the worse. The food seems over salted or too buttery...the quality has really suffered. Does anyone know if they have a new chef or why the place has taken a dive recently? Would love to know what happened to a neighborhood favorite...
Hmmm.... is it possible you were there on an off night? I was there about a week ago, and my dinner was great. Started with mussles (compulsory). Then I had the monkfish and lobster dish. Yeah, it was buttery... but with lobster I think it has to be.
I only go maybe once or twice a year, so it's possible I just don't remember all that clearly.
Been there recently and it was very good, the escargot was actually under salted, otherwise it was very tasty- the chicken and lamb are some favorites.
