Caviar Prices?

A couple of places advertising caviar on the Net offer caviar (for instance Russian osetra )at wildly lower prices than prices at NY stores - even Zabar's. Would it be foolish to buy from them? Is the caviar likely to be of very inferior quality?

I think it would be foolish. You have no way of gauging the quality, and if the price is cheap, it's probably black market caviar that has been illegally-harvested. I would stick with trustworthy purveyors, who you know will sell you good-quality and, most importantly, LEGALLY harvested caviar.
