BYO for 30 in Philadelphia?

I'm looking to have my 21st birthday dinner in either Center City or Old City. Penn Students, so moderate pricing is good. Around 30 people at a BYO. Any recommendations? I'm not looking to rent out the restaurant, but a private room would be great! Thanks!

we had a fun chow dinner at los taquitos de puebla in the italian market area. they have a private dining room (BYO wine + ambiance: music, decorations, etc) across the street from their bright orange restaurant. food's excellent, service is excellent, i was very happy with their handling of our large party. we probably had around 20 people, but the room could certainly hold more. i believe the manager's name there is carlos and he was extremely friendly. tacos al pastor would make for a fun grad party!

If Chinese is okay, Square on Square (19th and Chestnut) have an upstairs room that they use for large groups/parties. Friends had a lovely party there. There is a liquor store next door, and the store delivered the wine. No elevator; just steps.

word to the wise... BYO doesn't mean that you won't be carded

True, I have seen people carded at byos many times.

If you can see your way clear to the Conshohocken area you might want to try Viggiano's.

Thanks, coolgeek. But most of my friends are older than me, so it's not an issue. I also frequent BYOs. Thanks though.

I had my wedding 'rehearsal' dinner of about 33 people at Sabrina's at 9th and Christian, they set up the western room of the place for us. It's BYO. The food was fantastic, even better than it usually was for dinner there in my experience, and they really took care of us. They even procured a few bottles of Chianti for us from a nearby restaurant they are friendly with when our red wine supply started to run low. They'll work with you to come up with a menu, if I remember correctly we picked 4 apps and 4 entrees for the group to choose from.

That's going to be very hard to find. Nothing comes to mind.
