(Semi) Upscale Lunch Spot in Manhattan Beach?

Hey there...

I have been looking at the boards a bit for restaurant reco's for El Segundo the Manhattan Beach area and it seems that most of the places that are mentioned are either dinner only or are a little casual.

Are there any tasty lunch spots in the area that have a slightly higher price point? Nothing too crazy $20-30 per entree, say?

Any thoughts would be appreciated!

  1. Petros might just fit the bill.

    1. Cafe Pierre is one of the more upscale choices in the area. The food is good but nothing special. Fine, but not exciting. I know they have lunch on weekdays but I'm not sure about might want to call and ask. If you are willing to go to Torrance, Christine has better food. Caveat is that I've only been there for dinner (which has been excellent every time), and I am pretty sure they have lunch on weekdays only.

I would disagree with your assessment of Cafe Pierre. The food is very good, not "nothing special." It may not be up in the "rarefied" air with Spago, Melisse, Urasawa, etc., but they do well made Franco/euro dishes in a casual upscale atmostphere. I would compare it to Joe's in Venice, or Nook, or Violet.

      2. Rock N Fish, although it is pretty casual, the food is just soooo good. I've never had a bad meal there. Honestly...

Best bloody mary's ever. Served with a jumbo shrimp :-)
