post-wedding brunch in Providence

Looking for a venue for an out-of-towners Sunday brunch for the morning after our wedding. Would like to do something very casual so that people can just stop by for a bagel and cup of coffee before getting on the road. Probably 75 or so people, but staggered arrival/departure. Needs to be walking distance from the new Renaissance Hotel by the Capitol. Any ideas?

You could aways do something at Temple, the restaurant in the Hotel. I believe they do breakfeast. Otherwise, Jane is right there is nothing within an easy walk that fits the bill.

That's a tough one - closest thing walking would be Cheesecake Factory and that does not fit your requirement of in and out, staggered time, lots of people, bagel & coffee. I'd ask the hotel to give you a price on a function room and a corporate type continental bkfast - usually about $12/pp, bagels, pastries, muffins, coffee & tea. Since you're holding a wedding there, I'm sure they'd comp you a function room, esp on a Sunday (as conference rooms are mostly used on weekdays for business functions).

I agree with Jane. You should be able to get something at the hotel for a reasonable price. A wedding I went to last year had a breakfast room in the hotel the next day. We intended just to grab a bite before hitting the road, but we ended up staying for a while, because it was so fun to see people we had not visited with the night before. It was also a loss less stressful for the bride, groom and their families than the wedding itself.
