Has anyone been to this new Beverly Hills restaurant?
Yes, I have had several meals there while preparing a review for my Jay Weston's Restaurant Newsletter. It is a very sophisticated and beautiful restaurant, quite expensive for LA but not relative to NY or elesewhere. I am actually enchanted by the place, the people, the look of it...and think it will be very successful with the true food people of the city.
Just had lunch at Chadwick's. It's located in what appears to be a remodeled older house. There was one larger room seating about 35 and another room just behind it that seemed quite cozy and was next to a tiny bar (no seating). There was also seating at two outdoor patios. Service was attentive. I was not overwhelmed by the food. Two of us had the "signature dish" lobster BLT--lobster, avocado and alfalfa sprouts served on toasted sour dough bread for $18.00.
Most of the lunch entrees were that price. They also offered salmon (slightly overcooked) and chicken and several salads. The ambiance is very subdued but attractive with several banquettes that were very comfortable. The waiter suggested the BLTs and also the most expensive glass of wine, which was a very good pinot noir.
Parking is impossible during the day as they have no valets except at night. We ended up at a parking building about 2 blocks away. I wish reservationists would impart that kind of information when you are booking.
Would I return? Maybe..for dinner.
