OC pickled herring?

Looking for traditional pickled herring, with few or no preservatives and/or additives, in Orange County. Trader Joe's used to have one in a jar that was very good, but it was discontinued.

Any leads would be greatly appreciated!

JohnG., I have been disappointed by SM Seafood's in the past, but will keep them in mind.

EclecticE., I have seen those jars at Ikea. Will take another look.

    Thank you both.

IKEA has some made by, of all groups, ABBA, I believe. It's Scandinavian style with mustard and with vinegar and cream sauce, in small jars. Their quality was always consistent. This might be what you're looking for, worth a look, anyhow. They sell it at their "bistro" as you're exiting along with lingonberry and those delectable cookies.

Last time I was at Santa Monica Seafood in Newport Beach they had both sour cream and white wine varieties, made fresh. Good stuff.

Joani M., thank you -- I have tried the Russian deli on Harbor. (Moscow Deli?) Might try again.

Russkar, thanks, I will take a look at Bristol Farms.

Try the Russian Deli or Old World Deli, both on Harbor west of the 405. The Russian Deli has a lot of unusual things, so I would try there first.
