Yes I can, and enthusiastically! Of course, what I was looking for was melamine plastic (I really don't trust ceramic dishes from China as regards lead content, plus when I've had them they didn't last many times through the dishwasher).

quickspice.com - search in "tableware" and search for "melamine" as well - you'll love the variety and prices. Don't settle for "place settings" or for the first screen you get - if you can follow this long link, try

The site below is really good. If you can find them, the stainless steel serving dishes are awesome. Look good, indestructable and dishwasher safe. On a slightly down note - my (Taiwanese) wife said "They kind of look like something we use at funerals."
We bought ours at a place in Boston that sold to Chinese/Asian restaurants.

I assume you want good dishes, not plastic. If so restaurant supply stores are not what you want. Restaurant don't use good dishes.

Not necessarily true, Peter. At our Ace Mart Restaurant Supply stores here in Texas you can buy everything from fine china to plastic. They sell a lot of Fiestaware, and it costs less than in retail stores.

In Fiestaware? No lead there! It is the real deal, not a knock off. This company has a very good reputation. You could spend hours in there looking at all the things they have! And they will calibrate your meat thermometers for free!

First of all this is not a "chinese" restaurant supply store, which is what the OP was asking for. Second, the choices at this store seem very limited in terms of dish ware. So I stand by my statement that for high quality home use dish ware, a restaurant supply store is not the best place to look.

What a great site! They must have every pattern of Chinese tableware I've ever seen. The white porcelain servingware is amazing. So many of the unusual dishes used for expensive appetizers and desserts in upscale restaurants. I'll put this on my list of places to visit on my next trip to NYC. (Like I need more dishes...) Thanks!!!!

I was there on my last NYC visit. The place is huge! It has three levels, which aren't readily apparent, plus a mid-level tea room. An interesting mix with lots of fun stuff.
My wallet was lighter when I left. :)
