Potato Bread

Any recommendations on bakeries having good potato bread?

You should make your own. It will be better than anything Silverton and co. have to offer. Use the fine recipe in Elizabeth David's bread book.

Have you tried La Brea Bakery's potato-dill bread?

Enough of artisanal bread that shatters all over the kitchen (does Amy's Bread come to mind?). The best potato bread (rolls) I know were baked at Ninth Street Bakery in Durham, NC, now defunct. A very light egg wash, tight but supple crumb and moist and just cooked inside. Their sunflower rolls were terrific too, and hot cross buns at Easter. Gone but not forgotten.
