Lunch - Toronto

bluesbreaker1969 Dec 18, 2007 07:11 AM

Hi - I've tried searching this board, not really succesful.

I'm certain I've seen favourite lunch spots (nothing too extreme in $$) but in terms of walking away satisfied.

Ferget the Hart House or Osgood Hall or the Chefs on 8.

Let's have 5 great places within say 15 minutes walk from Bay/King.

    Mercatto (noisy and crowded though)
JK Winebar (if you walk fast)
Irish Embassy (also noisy, and not fancy, but always leave satisfied)

I've left out Biffs, Reds Bistro, etc. because they might be considered "too extreme in $$".

Thanks for your tips. For the record, I hope I wasn't implying by mentioning Hart or Osgoode that I was looking for fancy.

Have done Mercatto, Beerbistro (wasnt' too impressed) and was looking for something a bit different.

      but thanks!

No problem. Unfortunately, there isn't often much different in this area.

Have you been to Irish Embassy or P.J. Obrien's? They are both pretty good pub food.

Apparently, The Bottom Line has changed their menu. I haven't tried it, so I can't comment whether it's worth the walk.
