I saw the Printer's Cafe on California Ave. in Palo Alto at noon yesterday and was attracted to the coffee-house atmosphere and adjoining art gallery. I went in and ordered their hot turkey and jarlsberg sandwich. What arrived was mostly tasteless with thin slices of standard-cheap-deli-issue water-injected "turkey". Somehow I expected more of this place.

I tried it years ago and thought it was nothing special. I'm surprised it's still in business since there's a Starbucks nearby right?

The food is very average but it's been there for a long time. It's an indie and the nice outdoor area to sit probably keeps it afloat. Too bad the bookstore closed.
