Wallse -- what to order?
I am taking my office to Wallse for a holiday dinner. I've been there before, but it was years ago and I can't remember the menu that well. Are there any can't miss dishes? Anything to avoid? If you have wine suggestions that would be great as well. Thanks a lot.
If it's still on the menu - which I'm guessing it is - I would try the rabbit with spatzle. I also like their Wiener Schnitzel and have always enjoyed their lobster dishes. Others have told me they were less than thrilled with the goulash, but I've not tried. it.
agree re the rabbit and chestnut soup.
make sure to order some dessert too so you all can try some austrian dessert wines like trockenbeerenauslese. very sweet stuff but sublime. have it with the nockerl or strudel. another dessert dish that is fantastic for "non-work related group conversation" is the green apple and celery sorbet w/ horshradish and sea salt. unusual to say the least, but also it's good.
their spaetzel appetizer dish is phenomenal and anything with lobster!!! one of the best NYC restaurants.
