Christmas Eve/Day suggestions?

My partner and I will be in LA for Christmas and we're looking for dining recommendations for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

We are staying in a hotel in Santa Monica and have a car.

My ideal for Christmas Eve is someplace on the west side with a good buzz - people either out with their families or avoiding families ;-)

For Christmas Day, we're probably up for an asian restaurant (chinese or other) and a movie.

We're not interested in Saddle Peak or hotel restaurants/buffets.

I would love to know this as well! Anyone have any suggestions? I looked on Open table, and didn't get any great ideas.
