Any suggestions on a delicious prix fixe menu for a weekday dinner?

Early bird (5:00 to 7:00) at Clementine. Three courses for $25.00 - amazing.

Prix Fix in the FiDi area (only on Fri and Sat nights)... One Market Restaurant. Approx. $36.95 for 3 courses. For a white tablecloth dinner. Try a place that got a recent One Michelin Star.

I was reading a similar thread on the Manhatten board, and it turns out some of the super high end places have some amazing prix fixe lunch deals... any in SF?

None of the most commonly discussed super high end places (Gary Danko, Michael Mina, La Folie, Dining Room at the Ritz) even serve lunch. Boulevard does, but I don't know if people put Boulevard in that category, Also, none of them participates in Dine About Town (although I've noticed that top restaurant participation in DAT in NYC has dropped off as well). It's really a shame... the only way I was able to afford four-stars in NYC when I was a student there was through their prix-fixe lunches, and I assumed that SF would have similar deals, but when I did the research, I found nothing.

Years ago I had lunch at Lutece with the summer special hordes. I can't imagine it was anything like a proper meal there, and it didn't entice me to return. We did better at Campton Place two years ago.

But honestly, La Folie and the Ritz are doing you a favor by not bringing in a second rate chef for lunch that still costs $40 by the time you're done. As you've noted, the high-end SF restaurants like One Market that do offer lunch cater to business people. A number of additional places are open for weekday lunch through New Year's: Bix and Scott Howard come to mind.

I had the late prix fixe at Scott Howard last month; both my dining companion and I were very pleased with the value, creativity, and quality of the meal. The prix fixe is offered daily from 5:30 until 6:15, and 9:30 until 10:00. You can select any 3 items for $32.00 per person. I liked being able to opt for any 3 choices from any part of the menu.

Here are two underated and excellent-

South Park Cafe is a rustic cozy cafe, really solid good food - Three Course Prix Fixe Dinner 34.00
Your choice of one appetizer, one entree and one dessert.

RMN- Lower Haight cool place and food remains consistantly good and a great value for the prix fixe I like the Osso Buco - $28.00 Prix Fixe Menu, Tuesday - Saturday 5:30PM-7:00PM
              Includes Choice of Dessert

Dine About Town is coming up in Jan. lots of good options-

Opps forgot two other I like both places very much-
Firefly- in Noe Valley good all around comfort food-they use to have fried chicken that was outstanding.
                Prix Fix Menu Sun.- Thurs.;
                Any Appetizer, Entrée and Dessert
                $35 Per Person

Indigo- on McAllister- they do a prix fixe with more of a wine focus, might be why I like it so much. The food is very good similar to Firefly California/American/Met simple classic comforting and fresh and you can explore different wines with each dish. They have some excellent desserts as well.

Best value. Prefer three-four course meal. No preference on cuisine.

Tuesday night prix fixe at Canteen - $36. No choices but the food is wonderful!

                    Chapeau!
                    1550 Hyde
Le P'tit Laurent has a M-Th early bird that's also a fine deal; fewer choices than above.
These are all bistros under $35.

At the high end, I had a superb dinner for my birthday at La Folie (although other reports have been mixed). They have similar pricing to Gary Danko--any three courses for so many dollars ($70, I think), four for $80, etc.

Not to mention cuisine, for that matter.

Please clarify not only price point, but intent. When you say prix fixe are you looking for a bargain three-four course set meal, or are you looking for a swank ten+ course tasting menu?
