I just have to say I had a fantastic meal at Marouch (Lebanese food) on Santa Monica and Edgemont in the little mini-mall. I had been there in the past and always enjoyed the meza for two with three or more friends (lots of food) and thought it was good, but the other night I went back after having been away for a while and it was more than good. We had meza for four and the dishes just kept coming each better than the last. The pinnacle for me were the fava beans, mushy and garlicky and delicious. The sweet homemade sausage with pinenuts was exotic and tasty, the tabouli was tart, the babaganouj was smoky, the labneh was sour and cool and the fattoush salad had crunchy bits of pita and really fresh veggies. My only regret was that they were out of soujouk which is a garlicky beef sausage I adore, and truthfully, the cheese turnover and the spinach pie are good but not great. Anyway, they've redone the decor, no more booths, and they thankfully closed down their restaurant on La Cienega which was never as good, and I think they're really concentrating on the food. That's all. Just thought I'd share.
