KC hounds--kosher salt

Where do you all find kosher salt other than Morton brand? It seems to be the only brand I see in the markets. I'm looking to find Diamond or another brand. Anyone?

If you read above, you would see I bought it on the 19th, where zataar recommended.

Did Santa leave you coal in your stocking, Danimal?

We've had the same problem in the Cleveland area. Morton salt has an anticaking chemical in it; Diamond Crystal doesn't have any chemicals.

You should try a local Kosher butcher or kosher food purveyor for Diamond Crystal (that's where I finally found mine); also, Gordon's Food Service carries it.

            World Market may have some.

Phooey, I was just there last week and didn't think to look. Thanks, I'll call.

Penzey's has Diamond kosher salt. That's my favorite brand. I've never seen it at World Market. Bella Napoli used to carry it. Diamond is much better than Morton's IMO.

Thanks zataar! I bought a three pound box for $2.29 at Penzey's in OP today.

Diamond is my preferred brand. I think Super Target carries it, but in one pound canisters.
Please remember that Diamond's crystal structure (grain?) is different than Morton's, less dense, and that you will likely need to use a bit more than you are used to...can't remember the exact differential, but if baking or if you need an exact amount, weigh it, or compensate somehow...just a little tip

I have and use a digital scale for cooking and baking. Thanks for the heads up!
