found an unopened jar of raw unpasteurized honey in the wayback of the pantry. it was given to me at least a year plus a few months ago. is it safe to use or too old?
As the author of a book about honey, I can agree that your honey is perfectly good. If it has crystallized (looks cloudy and/or solid), just warm it gently in a pot in barely simmering water until it reliquifies. Enjoy!
honey has a nearly limitless shelf life. honey was found entombed with pharoahs in the pyramids, and was still good. your honey isn't even a teenager---i wouldn't worry.
