Having family (locals) gathering and want to treat them to fabulous time on Sunday Dec. 23rd. For some reason my reaservations at another restaurant got "lost"!! We will be a group of 40-all ages ranging from 5 years old to 80 years old. We are the typical Island raised family ie we like to eat good food. Nobu and Ruth Chris can accomodate or if you have better ideas PLEASE let me know ASAP!!!! I want to stay within a budget of $100.person. Any comments on suggested restaurants appreciated or if you have a better idea. Has to be HIGH END cause its Jenna's 5th birthday!!!

Will you adopt me? My fifth birthday was a barbeque. I really don't have an opinion between the two (though RC is more casual and if there are children running around, it might be more comfortable), just wanted to ask what you plan to do for her 10th?

Funny you should ask this question. My son and his wife just took us out to his favorite steak house near Disneyland called Ruth's Chris. I've never been there before but have heard people rave about that place. The steaks were from prime cuts and smothered with butter. I had the small ribeye (18 oz.) which was probably one of the best tasting I've ever had. Everything was ala carte and prices were moderate (under $40). Ambience is above average and the noise level was tolerant. This place would be my recommendation. I can't say anything about Nobu's. Never been there.

Ruth's Chris will probably suit your needs better, especially considering the age range.

I haven't been to Nobu's yet. Have heard good things about it, but from what I hear, it will be pushing your price range. 40 is a large group for Hawaii, especially this close to the date during the holidays.

Did make it out to both Nobu's and Ruth Chris-Nobu was very accomodating even for our last minute reservation but ened up at Hy's instead. But I wnt back seperate times to Nobu 5xs as the food and drinks were outstanding.Ruth Chris was too much of a mob scene to enjoy.
