Tucson Picnic basket advice?

Help, Tucsonians (Tucsonites? Tucsoni? Tucsonish?)

My parents mentioned they were thinking of having a picnic out in the desert Christmas day, but their idea of food was to get whatever the local grocery offered. So I'd like to do better for them (bless their hearts) as a holiday present.

Does anyone have recommendations for place that could put together a nice picnic? Delivery to the west side of town is a plus, but they can pick it up if necessary. Are there any restaurants or caterers that might offer more than the usual wine, cheese, crackers, and olives selection? It would be exceptional if they could have a real meal to take with them that's not Safeway or Boston Market.

Thanks in advance

  1. The proper plural is Tucsonans, pronounced "two-SEW-nuns".

    Go to Feast. They absolutely ROCK for things like this.

      You have to admit, "Two-SO -knee-anns, flows off the tongue more easily. :-}

      I'd have to agree with your recc of Feast...
