Lately, I've been enjoying the shawarma on laffa at the "express" location of Olympic Pita on 12th and University.

There are a few tables upstairs if you don't want take-away.

Strongly second Olympic, which also has a branch on 38th. Azuri on 51st would be my other rec for truly great shawarma in Manhattan.

Twice I've been there and requested the laffa, but both times it was not available. Do they run out of laffa early? Agreed that Olympic Pita is very good, but I'm not sure that it's open late at night.

Was this at the express branch (i.e., 12th and University)? I'm pretty sure they bake the laffa fresh at the 38th Street location and have never had them run out. BTW, good point re the "late night" condition, which excludes my earlier rec of Azuri.

thanks alot. I'll be in midtown so the 38th street location will be perfect.
