Quick semi-urgent question about honey

I'm making a dressing that requires honey, and just realized I'm out. All I have is this little tiny jar from a hotel, from many years ago. The seal is unbroken on the jar. Is it safe to use? It's Bonne Maman (sp?) brand. tia

Honey is the only food that doesn't spoil. If the lid is hard to unscrew, run it under hot water for 30 seconds and rap the lid of the jar with counterclockwise tangent strikes with a kitchen utensil 3 or 4 times. I hope the little jar is enough for your recipe.

Honey lasts forever. Or almost forever. You'd be able to tell if it was bad (moldy or stinky), which is very rare. Taste the honey first - if it tastes OK, go ahead and use it in your dressing.

P.S. [Edited to add] If the honey has crystalized (turned solid), you can heat it gently in hot water or the microwave to return it to liquid form.

Thanks, Anne. I'm so relieved! It tastes fine.
