    Daniel Boulud will be opening his wine bar, Bar Boulud on New Year's Eve.

                Yes. That's why I provided you with two links filled with the kind of information you requested. Looking at Eater & Grub Street (and the dozens of other NYC food blogs) will get you answers a lot quicker than waiting for responses to trickle in.

                Opening in mid-late January '08: Southgate
                (154 Central Park South - next to Essex House). Chef is Kerry Heffernan formerly of Eleven Madison Park

                  Thanks for that info, Yeo. I hadn't heard about Southgate. I've been wondering what became of Kerry Heffernan. His cuisine style while at EMP was, of course, entirely different from Daniel Humm's. Still, we had many excellent meals when he was there. So, I'll be putting Southgate on my "go to" list.

                    I can't wait for his pea flan with prosciutto to make an appearance on his menu this spring!
                    (n.b. I hear Tony Chi (Asiate, A Voce) is the architect.)

                      I've never been to Asiate though I gather it's gorgeous. I have a major problem with A Voce. It's all hard surfaces -- not a stitch of fabric anywhere -- and so the noise level gets so insanely high that normal conversation is impossible. It's the reason we've only been there once. I truly hope that won't be the case with Southgate.

                  hey netmover when you've had enough of Anchor's try Degustation and Falai if you haven't already done so. Not sure how "new" they are but they were two of my favorite dining experiences this year. Hope to get to Allen and Delancey after L'Atelier.

                  Second Avenue Deli just reopened and there's always the Dessert Truck (pretty new). As already mentioned by several hounds, read www.eater.com.

                    I got to say Katz is my favorite deli in NYC...handsdown. Granted, I have not been to the all new 2nd Ave Deli (which BTW isn't on 2nd Ave?), but Katz sure beat the old one IMHO.

                    Did Taverna OPA open in NYC yet? It's an awesome Greek concept from FLA.
