THE IVY, BEVERLY HILLS

I'm having lunch at the Ivy, Beverly Hills tomorrow - what are their best dishes?

Good cobb salad too. And it is a great place to take guests from out of town. You never know who you are going to see. I still have friends I took there two years ago saying, "I saw 'The Ivy' in another magazine!"

i've heard that sweet corn grill has some of these dishes such as the corn soup and chopped salad at at least half to a third the price of the ivy. but alas no stars and no outside rustic coutrified seating.

The Tandori Chicken is great. Also the corn chowder is fresh and very tasty.

The grilled vegetable salad is excellent. Despite the fact that people enjoy putting it down, the food is generally quite good. But it is very expensive for what it is.

Just finished a wonderful lunch there. We both had pasta with crab and shrimp and it was delicious. The service was perfect and I don't think the price was too high.

It's nice to hear someone say something nice about The Ivy. It is expensive, but it's worth it. I have never had a bad meal there, and the service I have received has always been excellent.

I always start with the gumba ya ya and then have the crabcakes... And a fruit cobbler for dessert!! Their fish and chips is very good as well.

anyone have a fax number for the ivy i keep trying to get a copy of the menu, but they keep blowing me off, maybe they don't need my business (they haven't needed for the past 20 yrs or so anyways).

With the understanding that everything is way overpriced, the crab cakes are pretty decent. If your interest is solely about food, spend your money elsewhere. If you're after the scene, Friday is as good a day as any.
