Philly airport area... any chance for good eats?

Will be crashing at an airport hotel next wkend, and was hoping to not having to go the fast food route for dinner.... any recs around the airport (20 min. driving distance ok)?

Thanks for your suggestions so far. If center city isn't that far of a drive, we might think about it.

Wolfe -- I was looking at more of a sit-down type of dinner, and (please don't kill me!) -- I am also not crazy about cheesesteaks ;-).

Something low-key, where one could get a table for 2 without prior reservation. Italian or Greek, or even some good Chinese or sushi...

Any specific tips you could give me would be super-appreciated. As always! Thanks.

No problem, I have yet to have one myself, am going on my Philly son's opinions.
But did you see the winner of the MSNBC sandwich judging. A Philly cheese steak BLT combo. Expect Vesuvio's to get a commendation from the American College of
Cardiologists for their up turn in business.

Being as I am in Berkeley and have been to none of the places perhaps a native
can sort out these Greek restaurants for linguafood. All had 4 1/2 to 5 stars on the page I found at Google Greek restaurants Philadelphia.

I would go to Hello Cafe, on Washington at 6th street for Chinese. It is a pretty short drive from the airport. I would got to Dimitri's in Queen Village for Greek, they are BYOB. A little further, but very tasty, in my opinion. For Italian got to Dante and Luigi's. I have attached a link for you. http://www.danteandluigis.com/index.htm. Wow, that is one extensive menu for Dante & Luigi's! Thanks for giving 3 options to choose from. We'll see what strikes our fancy that night.

Another option could be the Royal Tavern for a drink... you may be tempted to have dinner there. BTW has the best duke box in town - make sure you play teenage kicks by the Undertones...

Get directions for PHL to 14 E. SNYDER AVENUE - SOUTH PHILADELPHIA
Short ride. Yes it's a joint but got one of the best Philly Cheesesteaks and parking should
be easy. Check home page for phone and get winter hours, summer had Saturday 9-4.

I used to live in center city (22nd and Walnut) and could get to the airport parking lot from there in 12 minutes.

Ah linquafood - welcome to Philadelphia, where the airport is about 20 mins from center city and you have to drive through South Phila (in other cities it would be called Little Italy) to get there. Closest to the airport would be L'Angola (BYOB Italian). Other chows will help more here, but check out posts near the stadiums, south philadelphia, and actually some airport requests - they have all been topics in the last 9 months.
