ISO fruitcake

LisaStitch Dec 13, 2007 08:54 AM

I'd like to get my dad a small fruitcake for Christmas (he actually likes them) - just your standard fruitcake, not panettone or anything fancy. I've been to Ralph's, Gelsons, Pavilions, even asked at See's Candies, and no one has them or knows where I could get one. Any other ideas would be much appreciated. FYI I am in the West LA area. Thanks!

My mom actually likes them also. My sister bought her one from Harry and David's at one of their retail locations here in southern California. It's mostly fruit and a teeny bit of cake, so be warned. It's pretty good though. I hope this link works. Their website I think has a store locator too. http://www.harryanddavid.com/gifts/st...
I know Costco used to make a gigantic fruitcake which looked pretty good, but it sure wasn't small. You might check into that also. If you find a good place, could you post the information. Like I said, my mom likes them too. Thanks!

Thank you so much. I got one at the Bristol Farms on Lincoln in MDR/Westchester. The sucker's small but heavy and $30, but it actually looks kinda tasty.

Will keep Harry & David's in mind for next year too...
