Great, Casual, fun lunch near Barney's or Bloomies for out of towners

We are traveling up to NY from DC on the 21st and plan to tour the windows of the department stores and will start with Barney's or Bloomies- I need a great lunch to start our holiday weekend- cost not an issue, good food, fun place is and a great drink too.

  1. Try Fred's at Barneys in the Barneys store if you start there.

      fred's is one of my favorites. bound to see a celeb while you are there too. be sure to make a reservation...it's gets pretty crazy at lunchtime.

      other good lunch places...Alice's Tea Cup, 40 Carrots in Bloomies (get the frogurt), and Fig and Olive

        Fred's is good...I'd also include BG at Bergdorf Goodman. Amazingly chic and charming atmosphere, light food and gorgeous views.

    2. Nicole's, right across from Barney's on 60th, is one of my favorite places to eat in the city. Very fashion-y and chic, but the staff have no attitude. Food fresh and market-based. If you go, try one of the daily pastas, pizzas or soups rather than the regular menu. If you want to eat cheaper, try the half-portions, which are more than enough.
