  1. Hehe, the nearest one.

Not an egg nog fan. I do love chestnuts, though.

    1. I like Mexican moles and/or tamales for holidays. Partly because they're so different from what I grew up with.

      1. well, it isn't alcoholic, but my mother's recipe for Wassail just makes me happy.

I have never made Wassail myself, but it is always at the Yule celebration, and I think I might try making some for my family this year.

Do you have a favorite recipe or guide?

        2. I think I agree with the closest but here are some of my favorites....

the champagne I save for "special times" bearing in mind that I drink it most of the time so special really is
          homemade eggnog
          hot butter rums

all the treats I don't make other times of the year - almond roca, cashew brittle, quick sweet breads and of course the excuse to make the really big prime rib dinner

          1. Julekage and Fattigman Bakkels (Norwegian Christmas bread and poor man's cookies - mama's home cooking); no alcohol because of some medication I take, but I drink coffee by the liter and lots of Turkish tea (from living in Turkey for a year)

God Jul, Froeliche Weihnachten, Merry Christmas, Feliz Navidad

            1. Benvenuto. My favorite Christmas Day dish is Stuffed Artichokes a la Romana and my favorite beverage is Silvano Follador Prosecco Valdobbiadene "Cartizze" Superiore.

              What's yours? Buon Natale!

              1. Bubbles Bubbles Bubbles...I love Bubbles.
So, any good champagne, prosecco, cava.....mmmmm, bubbles.
Favorite dish-es...Steak and Onion Pie, and mince meat pies for dessert...oh, don't forget the extra booxey triffle.
I can't wait to visit my friends for xmas eve...the mom makes all this great English stuff for xmas and it sure makes this spanish catholic girl very happy!!!!

Bubbles and pies of any kind!!! Happy Holidays!
