Road Trip March 2008

  • 2

We are planning a road trip from Regina SK Canada to Fort Collins CO in March of 2008 and really want to eat well along the way.
We have yet to commit to a route as this decision will be based on where the good restaurants are located.
We will be travelling through Wyoming and Colorado (also North Dakota, South Dakota and Nebraska these will be posted in the appropriate boards)

We want to avoid chain/family restaurants in favor of more local and interesting spots. We enjoy all types of food and are interested in any type of place from road side cafe to fine dining.

Thank you in advance for your input.

  1. Good luck! I traveled WY and Northern CO for 7 years and found it to be pretty much a chow wasteland. While there are some trendy offerings in Ft. Collins, I would always go retro and eat at CharcoBroiler. Colorado is beef country after all, and this throwback steakhouse serves up the goods for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

    1. If Cheyenne is on your itinerary, try the Albany Restaurant (www.albanycheyenne.com).
A locals' place we have enjoyed. It's right across the street from the restored train station (www.cheyennedepotmuseum.org) which is definitely worth a visit.
If you stay in Cheyenne, consider the Best Western Hitching Post Inn.
