smoked salmon at room temperature
Does anyone have any thoughts on how long smoked salmon can keep at room temperature?
We eat a lot of smoked salmon and have no problem leaving it out for a 2-3 hours. Coldsmoked/lox I wouldn't leave out too much longer while hotsmoked can be left for more time. That said - if you want to eat it on the plane which is something we usually do, have it well chilled or frozen before you go, put in amongst the items to insulate a bit, then by the time you eat it, it will either be just room temp or just thawed.
