Sat. Ladies lunch - Northern Marin
I am looking for a nice lunch place for Saturday within a couple of exits north or south of the Regency theater in San Rafael. California/American - salads, simple mains, etc. Under $20 pp. Thanks!

You are in luck. One of Marin's best pizza places is right across the street from the theater on Smith Ranch Rd. - Mulberry Street Pizza.

Also, The Club at McGinnis Park -- conveniently at the end of Smith Ranch road -- is a California-style chic cafe sitting in the club house at the golf course (you can watch the players).
La Toscana, across the freeway from the Civic Center on Redwood Hwy., is a pleasant, semi upscale restaurant and a good place for socializing. http://eastbay.citysearch.com/profile/1042987/san_rafael_ca/la_toscana_ristorante.html
Chalet Basque is a charmer. It's in a converted house on North San Pedro. a mile east of the Civic Center. On a good day you can dine outside. Food is Frenchie-Basque-American.
