French Polynesia: Rangiroa
We are going for a wedding, but we are staying longer than the rest of the family.
Any food recommendations at all would be appreciated.
we are staying at Kia Ora
We were in Bora Bora and Taha'a last year. We found the suggestions in the Lonely Planet guide for Polynesia very reliable. And overall the food on the islands was amazing thanks to the influence of the French. Think fabulous French or French-influenced food and a great selection of French wine in an uncrowded paradise. It was funny to see all the locals leaving the local grocery store with a fresh baguette in their basket. But due to the location, everything is very pricey.
...and enjoy your trip....it really is an amazing part of the world. Incredible people, stunningly beautiful vistas ...very laid back. Not commercial like so many fly n' flop islands. The amazing food just makes it all the more incredible. And pick up some good quality Monoi Oil for your skin while you are there. I've been using it daily ever since I left.
