Sat. Night Solo in NYC

My work colleague (from SF Bay Area) will be in NYC this weekend for a conference and is looking for a restaurant where she can dine solo either at the bar or at a table. Any ideas would be welcome. Looking for a somewhat trendy place in a safe-ish neighborhood - about $100 including wine tops. Thanks.

I recently had a terrific dinner at Gramercy Tavern solo at the bar on a Saturday night. I had a cocktail while waiting 15 minutes or so for a seat to open up. Appetizer, cocktail, entree, dessert and a glass of wine was around $75.

I used to like eating alone at Mesa Grill in the Village. It feels festive, and the food and margaritas are good. But get there early. Gotham Bar and Grill also works if you can get there early enough...
