Tasting for Two during the holidays
My girlfriend and I are looking to go out for a holiday dinner on an upcoming weekend. We enjoy trying new places and generally like all different types of cuisine, with money not a factor in regards to the restaurant of choice. We have recently been to Sibling Rivalry, Pomodora, Davios, Ruth Chris...Originally we had talked about finding a fancier restaurant, I would like to find a place with a good tasting menu (my girlfriend is always talking about doing a tasting). Any place in the greater Boston area is fine; we have a car and have access to the T. Any suggestions you have would be greatly appreciated, Thanks!

This thread from August is a nice compendium of options in the city:

If you've seldom or never done a tasting menu before, I'd recommend No. 9, L'Espalier, or Troquet for a nice, classic take on the idea.
If you're looking for something a little different, I'd recommend O Ya or Craigie Street Bistrot, for omakase and country French, respectively.
