Mazur's (Little Neck, NY): Is it any good?

The butcher shop/market appears less than clean and generally unappealing to the eye. That said, how good is the take-out counter and the restaurant next door?

Mazur's closed their restaurant several months ago.

sad to hear. I think they were quite good and glatt did not change anything. I think they were better than Noah's Ark, closest thing we have to it in Teaneck.

it has a zagat rating and has small portions----it was better in the 80's when it was non-glatt--it was only non-glatt place which was shomer shabbos.

If you're looking for a good butcher in that area (not deli, but chicken/beef/lamb/etc.), then check out Isaac's on Union Turnpike in Jamaica Estates. Some of his stuff is pre-marinated with some great Israeli flavor (terrific for grilling) and his kabobs are amazing.

I still think it is good. Slow service sometimes, but good food. Much better than Noah's Ark (we moved to Teaneck from Queens). The meat sold in the grocery is also much higher quality than what we got from Supersol in Queens, at a slight premium. I don't think it changed much when it went under the Vaad of Queens; it was always under reliable supervision (approved by the local Young Israel rabbi).

mazur's was great before it got rated by zagat-----it has small potions and is pricy---years ago ,in its non-glatt days it was wonderfful-----and even then was shomer shabbos-I miss the old mazur's!!!!!!

I've been to the restaurant 2 or 3 times and while the service is a little unorganized, the food is what you would expect from a good kosher deli.

I didn't care for Mazur's deli. King David in Cedarhurst is much better.
