I hated the truffled egg toast at 'ino...

I love truffles but absolutely hate truffle oil. Are there any simple truffle pasta dishes still on menus around the city? or shaved truffle over eggs?

And I most certainly loved everything else at 'ino. It was a delight to have an affordable bottle of wine (or two!) and such great snacks. Servers were delightful on a busy Saturday during the holidays.

Just to add to jthefoodie's list:

    - Potato puree with truffle topping at L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon
    - White truffle tasting menu at Del Posto
    - Risotto with white truffle at Eleven Madison Park (it was a seasonal special, so I am not sure if it was still available)
    - I also love the truffle raviolo at A Voce!

I cannot agree with you more that the real truffle is not replaceable by truffle oil...

I'm surprised - I liked this dish. Love real truffles more, however ;-) I just had the ricotta/spinach/soft yolk ravioli at A Voce, which they bring to you and shave white truffle over, tableside. Stupendous. White truffles are in season basically through the end of the month, so hurry.

Other places: Chanterelle, San Domenico (same idea of egg raviolo), Four Seasons (white truffle, polenta, quail egg; scallops with black truffle), Fiamma (special risotto with shaved white truffle; gnocchi with black truffle).

The Post mentioned Sapori d'Ischia, in Queens, serves a reasonably priced 4-course menu, if you're willing to travel for your truffles.

Gilt has a white truffle menu, too, plus their (soon-to-be-black-truffle) white truffle grilled cheese. Gilt overtook Le Cirque as the buyer of this season's most expensive truffle, but anyway LC did buy a hefty one and must still be serving the little tubers.

Of course, there's always the obscene: Waverly's $85 truffled mac-n-cheese, the $1000 white truffle and gold leaf bagel at the Times Sq. Westin...

Hope this helps. Do report back!!
