I don't mean to be an idiot, but what do you mean by a "tasting menu"? I live and work in Manhattan Beach, so perhaps I could help.

sometimes restaurants offer a set menu which consists of 7 to 10 courses like for example http://www.hatfieldsrestaurant.com/me...

they offer a 7 course tasting menu for $79 a person

Providence offers a multi-course tasting menu at the chef's table

ritz carlton offers a 5 course tasting menu

Joe's sometimes offers a Tasting Menu, over in Venice. That'd be a good place to give a gift regardless.

Manhattan used to have a tasting menu at Avenue, which is now closed. There is no real true place to get really great food in the beach cities anymore. You might have to head to LA (or north of ballona creek) for a tasting menu.

La sosta enoteca does not have a tasting menu per se, but it is fancy enough to have one. You might consider that.
