We're heading to Daniel for the first time in years. Any suggestions and feedback on dining there and on the current menu?

  1. Tasting menu with standard wine pairing. Or if you want standard menu go with the foie gras and then lamb. Unless you are really into wine ask them to do the pairings becaue they nail it every time.

    1. I ate at Daniel a few months ago. The mushroom ravioli and sea bass were both excellent. I'm not sure if either dish is still on the menu.

The paupiette of black sea bass wrapped in a crisp potato shell with Syrah sauce is Daniel Boulud's signature dish. When we were there in October, one of the waiters told us that some regular patrons order it every time they dine there. I don't think Daniel will be taking it off the menu anytime soon.

      2. I noticed they had a vegetarian tasting menu. Has anyone tried that yet? Thanks.

GF had the veggie tasting last time and she raved about it. She is a vegetarian so she was delighted they did the veggie menu.

        2. You have to get a dish with foie gras, I had chicken stuffed with it which was the best chicken I've ever had (and I've had a lot of chicken!)

          1. I got the tasting menu at the end of October and it was amazing. Since there were two of us, we got everything that was on offer and the standouts were definitely the mushroom ravioli and, surprisingly, the duo of beef. The ribeye was everything a piece of beer should ever be.
