ISO Dim Sum in SGV

I'm thinking of heading to the SGV for Dim Sum today, and wondering what my best bet is (been a few years since I've headed that far east). Thinking Elite or Mission 261. Also, how long should a party of 4 be prepared to wait on a Sunday? Thanks much.

My favorite Dim Sum is definitely Sea Harbour on Rosemead. The freshness and quality of their dishes (and variety) are the reasons why all of my Dim Sum Hounds and I return there again and again.

Mission 261 is honestly so-so Dim Sum, but in a trendy setting. It's a little too "PF Chang's" for me. Elite uses too much MSG (I'm really sensitive and have a slight allergic reaction to too much MSG, and it hit me pretty bad when I went).

Elite has a line out the door for sure. But its worth it.

Elite and Triumphal are both "haute" dimsum, little twists on the familiar utilizing fancy schmancy Chinese names hence commanding a price premium. Both have superior rooms. Mission 261 is borderline "haute". "No, thanks" to all 3. The line outside Elite is guaranteed every weekend as I drive by.

So we go to Empress Harbor up the block instead. It's "comfort" dimsum if such a thing exists.

        btw, search is your friend.

Empress Harbor has its share of lines, too. Had to wait about 30 min. during my last visit, but the food is very good.

My favorite dim sum place with carts, better than popular favorites Ocean Star and NBC Seafood.
