Refuel on Hampson has great sandwiches.

Their menu lists the "Uptown Club"...roasted turkey, ham, apple-wood bacon, cheddar, mayo lettuce and tomato.

Ahh, the first one I ever had was at D.H. Holmes on Canal St. It was such a treat for a country girl. Can't wait to see the responses to the o.p.

I'm a fan of a good club myself. Martin's Wine Cellar's "real club" is very good; their Executive Club has American cheese (ick). I can't remember right now, but some place in town has a turkey club w/blue cheese, avocado, bacon, & sprouts....

Are you thinking of Back to the Garden, or maybe Lucy's Valley Girl sandwich? I love both of those.

New Orleans is not exactly famous for club sandwiches, but the best I've ever had was the one at Redfish Grill in the Quarter. Hickory grilled Louisiana shrimp with applewood-smoked bacon, tomato-tarragon mayonnaise, lettuce and tomatoes, served on toasted sourdough with Creole potato salad or housemade onion potato chips. It's not your father's club sandwich.
