Restaurant Gift Certificate Suggestions

JAC13 Dec 8, 2007 09:37 PM

My sister and her boyfriend live in Cambridge and both are in their mid-20's. I want to give them a gift certificate for a Boston restaurant. They both eat everything and I think price-wise I was thinking $250-$300. I am not familiar w/Boston at all and would love to hear about the best restaurants that you think the city has to offer- anything goes but I would prefer places that would be a great place to go on a date or would be considered a special occasion restaurant. Thank you all in advance!
P.S. If you need any DC recs. I would be happy to help :)

Some favs often mentioned here are Clio, L'Espalier, Troquet, Pigalle, and Prezza. You probably can't go wrong with any of these.

DC, huh? Love the restaurant scene there. I'm still thinking about the breakfast I had at the Lafayette House (in the Hay Adams Hotel). I'm not the classiest guy in the world, but it felt good pretending there, for an hour or two, anyways! :-b

If you want a lot of bang for your buck, I recently got a GC for Petit Robert for $250 and it got me 2 visits with some to spare for some amazing classic French food. Plus you can try more than one of their locations.

Hamersley's is always good, Harvest in Cambridge, definitely Oleana, and now even Rondezvous are all good choices for a good nite out.
