Jungle Lime Mexican Grill More OvVey than Ole!
Located at 803 9th Avenue This fairly new bright and inviting establishment seemed worth a try as we enjoy non-authentic Mex as well as the real deal. Prices were great but....the corn on the cob appetizer with cotija cheese was frozen corn which had been sitting in a pot of boiling water to the point of satutration. As it wasn't grilled, the cheese, if there was any, couldn't adhere to this soggy mess. The veggie burritos were lukewarm on one side and cold on the other. We could not discern ANY of the ingredients which were supposed to be in them. My wife's frozen margarita was fine but I sent back my frozen sangria which tasted like a Cranberry slushie. Oh yes, the burritos, which were undersized, do come with a handful of chips which were good. I asked if I could have a little cup of salsa to go with them but was told that it doesn't come with them and I could take any hot sauce gratis.

Although their menu says Jungle Lime, the restaurant's correct name is Lime Jungle

I stopped in to try some empanadas because the sign and menus say that they are the "Original Mama's Empanadas". Whatever! Let's just say that if they are, then I'm glad that Empanada Mama came along to GREATLY improved the recipe, and added some extra variety to boot.
My advise: just skip this place and walk the extra block or two to Empanada Mama. They might cost just a little bit more, but they are more than worth the extra cost!
