Philoxenia Returns (almost)
Yes the long awaited re opening of Philoxenia on 34th ave is nigh. They are in a "soft opening" phase, still working out numerous kinks, but the new space is very pretty, with a fireplace, exposed bricks, wood beams. I passed by tonight and decided to go in alone for dinner. It looks like they even have the old menus from the original rest. on Ditmars. They didn't have everything on the menu available yet (they just opened their doors a few days ago), but I had the zucchini fritters (excellent) as well as Lamb chops and Horta. It was all very nice. I remember loving their stewed dishes, and look forward to going back and trying them. They have house wine, no bottles yet. They plan to have a "grand opening" in about 10 days time. Welcome back, Philoxenia.
