Looking for Memorable Anniversary Dinner Suggestions

My parents are in town this weekend celebrating their 32nd anniversary. I'm looking for some restaurant ideas in Boston for a memorable dinner. Only criteria are warm atmosphere, great food, and good wine list. Price is not an issue. As far as type of cuisine, we are open to anything but they do favor good Italian (not the red sauce kind not that there's anything wrong with that) and love seafood.

To give you a better idea of what they enjoy, we have had great meals at Mamma Maria (and loved the atmosphere) and Meritage.

Last thought, my mom does not eat beef (but does eat chicken, fish, lamb) so steakhouses are probably not ideal unless they have several good seafood options.

I know I can count on my fellow CH'ers to come up with something perfect!

  1. The Federalist is a classy place for an anniversary. Go large!

The Federalist is now a steakhouse called Mooo (since this summer).

Our favorite anniversary places are either Prezza or No 9 Park.

    2. I was ready to suggest Mamma Maria until I read your second paragraph. If they haven't already been, I'd take them to L'Espalier before it relocates out of that beautiful townhouse (although it's not Italian). I can't think of any other Italian places with the atmosphere you're looking for. I wouldn't say Prezza has a warm atmosphere, although the food is great.

      1. La Voile on Newbury St could be a good choice. Several recent reports on CH.
